Hi! My name is Michaela Wadzinski. I'm a story artist, writer, and director  from Sioux City, Iowa who now resides in LA. I love to tell character-driven stories with a lot of heart and a healthy dose of comedy!​

As an introverted child, I was able to find my voice for the first time among fellow filmmakers. I grew up with an incredible passion for animation, but found a second love in live action. I can often be found working in either medium or mixing the two. As long as I'm telling a story I'm passionate about that's all that matters!

The short films I've directed have played in over 80 festivals world wide and won over 20 'best of' awards. Including the 'Ron Clements Award for Excellence in Animation'. My feature script 'The Ghosts Are My Friends' was selected as a 2025 Stowe Story Labs Remote Writer's Retreat Participant.

Outside of filmmaking I love exploring new escape rooms, crocheting, cooking, and playing board games.
